Obituary of Samson Gene Hess

Samson Gene Hess, 48, of Moberly, passed away September 10, 2021 at his home.  Samson was born May 1, 1973 in Moberly to Bruce Hess and Pam Briscoe Hess. He was a graduate of the Moberly Public Schools and a lifelong resident. 

On Valentine’s Day in 2007 he was united in marriage to Trisha Bollman and they spent fourteen happy years together.

Samson worked for Everlast in Moberly for twelve years and recently was employed at Swift Prepared Foods in Moberly.

Samson had an infectious smile that would make any gloomy day turn bright.  He never met a stranger.  Sam treated everyone as if they were his own family, whether he just met them or had known them his whole life.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and walking his dog (Brock).  He loved fishing, cooking, telling stories and he loved to make people laugh and smile.  He also was an avid mushroom hunter and had an impressive collection of knives.

Those preceding Samson in death are his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Trisha Hess; son, Damion Hess; parents, Bruce and Pam Hess all of Moberly; brother, Alan Hess of Moberly; extended family and friends.
