Obituary of Donald Williams
Donald Williams, 74, of Paris, MO, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO August 9, 2021.
Donald was born in Peabody, Massachusetts December 24, 1946 to Herbert and Eleanor Fraize Williams. Donald moved to Holliday, MO in 2008 from the state of Maine. He had served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, completing two tours of duty in Viet Nam, from 1967-1969. He married Theresa Deierling in 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Moberly and she survives at their home in Paris, MO.
Donald worked as a millwright for many years until disability forced his retirement. He was a leader in addiction recovery programs and groups. His mission was serving others with addiction and ministering to “the least of these” as Jesus commanded. His service also took him inside prisons to minister to inmates suffering from addiction. Donald and Theresa loved to travel and enjoyed outdoor camping trips.
Those preceding him in death are his parents, a brother and a grandson.
He is survived by his wife Theresa; children, Donnie Williams, Moberly, Andrew (Miyuki) Williams, Moberly, April (Matt) Lewis, Battlefield, Rick (Ashley) Williams, North Dakota, Amanda Armstrong, Missouri, Jennifer (Joe) Blair, Moberly, Brad Williams, Paris, Coy (Elizabeth) Pence, Holliday; 38 grandchildren and 3.5 great-grandchildren and a brother, Richard Williams, Paris.
Services for Donald will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1049 County Road 2310, Moberly, MO 65270, with burial to follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Holliday, MO. Visitation will be from 1:00 until time of service.
