Obituary of George Michael Hill

George Michael “Mike” Hill, 64, of Clifton Hill, MO, was surrounded by family and friends when he quietly passed away August 3, 2021. 

Mike was born on February 3, 1957 in Moberly, MO to George Kenneth Hill and Eula Francis (Burton) Hill.  He was a graduate of Westran High School.  On July 17, 1977, he married the love of his life, Tammy Ryals in Clifton Hill, MO.  Mike worked for Peabody Coal and farmed with his brother-in-law, Jimmie for 25 years.  For the last 19 years he was proud to farm with his two sons, Trevor and Zach, on the family farm.

Mike was very involved in his community and was a member of the Clifton Hill Methodist Church, the West Randolph Fire Association, the Westran Fire Protection District Board and the Clifton Hill Cemetery Board.

Mike was a great family man; he was Pappy to the grandkids and Curly to many others.  Everyone knew him to be generous to a fault and would do just about anything for anyone.  He loved farming with his sons and grandsons.  Mike also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers-in-law and was always teaching the grandkids how to do things. His family will always remember his unique laugh and that he was always happy. He was the absolute best story teller!  Mike also had a favorite daughter in law, he will let you decide which one it was.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, George K. and Eula F. Hill; his brothers-in-law, T. D. Donaldson, Steve Homan and Jimmie Webster and his niece, Robin Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Tammy Hill of Clifton Hill; his sons, Trevor (Brook) Hill and George Zachary (Tana) Hill all of Clifton Hill; grandchildren, Trey Marble, Lanie Hill, Kyler Hill, Gage Hill, Rydan Hill and Aizleigh Hill, all of Clifton Hill; his extended grandsons, Korbin Perry and Carter Theil; sisters, Judy Webster of Clifton Hill, Georgeanne Donaldson of Columbia, Tempy Holman, Lisa (Rayle) Rice and Linda (Danny) Haffecke all of Huntsville; in-laws, J P and Velma Ryals of Clifton Hill; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews; extended family and many good friends.

A memorial service celebrating Mike’s life will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the family home, 1069 County Road 1025, Clifton Hill, MO.
