Obituary of Karl Voeltz

Karl Dwayne Voeltz, 79, of Higbee, MO passed away at his home on August 2, 2021 with his family at his side.

Karl was born on May 27, 1942 in Ellsworth, KS to Roberta Webb Voeltz and Herbert Voeltz.

He graduated from high school in Pratt, KS.  In 1972 he moved to Brusly, LA where he accepted a position as a welder for the Local 198 where he worked for more than 30 years.

Karl married Phyllis Forrest and became a great family man.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was affectionately known as Paw Paw or Paw.  

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis Voeltz; his parents, Herbert and Roberta Voeltz; great granddaughter, Madeline Corbett; sisters, Katherine Fruit and Diane Halley as well as brothers, Marvin Voeltz and Woody Voeltz.

Karl is survived by his daughter, Syndi Voeltz of Higbee; grandchildren, Rebecca (J W ) Corbett of Fort Sill, OK, Michael Voeltz, Elizabeth Shepherd and Karlea Gravitt all of Higbee; great grandchildren, Garrett Voeltz of Higbee, Raelynn Corbett and Jacob Corbett both of Fort Sill, Ok and A J Houts and Ariel Shepherd both of Higbee; sister, Karen Johnson of Seguin, TX; 17 nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

A memorial service celebrating Karl’s life will be held at a later date in Ellsworth, KS.
