Mitchell Nickerson

Obituary of Mitchell Nickerson

Mitchell Duane Nickerson, 49, of Moberly, MO, unexpectedly passed away on July 9, 2021 at the University of Missouri Hospital.

Mitch was born on January 9, 1972 to Clifford Nickerson and Viola (Welch) Nickerson.

Mitch married Kristie (Summers) Nickerson on May 24, 2008 in Excello, MO.

Mitch was a very loyal friend, an extremely loving father and grandfather, and he was often generous to a fault. Mitch was very social and was deeply involved in the Biker community for the majority of his life.

Mitch was very passionate about his auto body business, which he ran for over thirty years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to car shows, getting tatted, making people laugh, and riding for Toys for Tots. However, there was nothing more special to him than spending time with his grandchildren.

Anyone who knew Mitch will remember him for his huge heart, loyalty, ornery smile, and being unapologetically himself. He was a force of nature, living his life in a “Live free, Ride hard” sort of way that everyone admired.

Mitch was predeceased by parents, Clifford and Viola Nickerson; granddaughter, Presley Hill; son, Austin Elmore and sister, April Nickerson.

He is survived by his wife, Kristie Nickerson of Moberly, MO; children, Brittany Nickerson, Isabella Wiesner, Bailey Owings, Wyatt Owings all of Moberly, MO; grandchildren, Gracie Nickerson, Rylee Hill, Koby Maeson all of Moberly, MO; sisters, Angie and husband Tim Coonce, Becky and husband Shawn Closser, Shirley Looney all of Moberly, MO; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many close friends.

A memorial service celebrating Mitch’s life has been scheduled for Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1:30p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home, Moberly, MO followed with a final ride in honor of Mitch. Family will receive guests from 1:00p.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions in Mitchell's honor are suggested to Toys for Tots, c/o Trustees Cycle Shop, 1402 Hwy JJ, Moberly, MO 65270.
