Obituary of James Larry White

James “Larry” White, 82, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 surrounded by his family at his home in Moberly, Missouri.

Larry was born on September 17, 1938 in Randolph County to Fount Leroy White and Marjorie Idell Dale White.  

Larry was a lifelong member of the Randolph County area. He married Lynda Hammer on May 10, 1963 in Moberly. Larry worked as the supervisor for the Moberly Special Road District and retired after 35 years of service.

Larry loved country music. He was the organizer and lead singer of the band “Country Outlaws” for over 20 years. He is a member of the Missouri Blue Grass and Pure Country Hall of Fame, inducted in 1990. Larry also raised horses, that he enjoyed showing for many, many years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending some time at The Boat and doing a little bit of gambling. Larry was an amazing man, who will be greatly missed by all who were so lucky to know him.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Fount and Marjorie; sisters, Judy Bale and Mona Upah; brothers-in-law, Charles Hammer, Marty Hunt and Tommy Wilson; sister-in-law, Alice White and in-laws, Clarence “C.N.” and LaVonne Hammer.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda of Moberly; children, Sharon Miller of Moberly, Cathy Hager of Macon, Lora (Bennie) Bradley of Moberly and Sara (John) Kauffman of Hunnewell; grandchildren, Angel, Cora, Daniel, Kristen, Danyelle (Dan-Robbie) Randolph, Brittany Bradley, Amelia “Millie” Kauffman and Avery Kauffman; siblings, Jack (Donna) White, Mary Sue Wilson, Wayne White, Shirley (Roger) Messer, Betty Hunt, Pete Freeman, JoAnn Peman, Joe Freeman and Vickie Heathcote; brother-in-law, Kevin Upah; several nieces and nephews; extended family and close friends.

Per Larry’s request, no public services will be held.
