William Crabtree

Obituary of William James Crabtree

William James Crabtree, (Bill), age 64, of Moberly, MO was surrounded by his wife and children when he went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2021 at the University Hospital, Columbia, MO.

Bill was born on May 4, 1956 in San Jose, CA to Wayne and Irene (White) Crabtree.  He married the love of his life, Jackie Lusby on January 13, 1979 and the two spent 42 wonderful years together.

Bill attended the Pentecostal church where he enjoyed running the sound system for a number of years.

He was a very social person with a personality out of this world. He never met a stranger, was a big jokester, enjoyed teasing people, loved to make everyone laugh and had a laugh of his own that was very contagious.

Bill will be remembered as being an excellent fisherman, which was his favorite thing to do. He enjoyed taking several fishing trips to provide fish fry's for his family as well as his church family. He loved pulling in the “big ones”, with the biggest being an 85-pound flathead.

He also loved to cook, was an avid coin collector, and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  Bill will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Crabtree; father, Wayne Crabtree; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Myrtle Lusby; step-father, Bill Starr; sister, Kay Brazzeal; and brothers, Danny Crabtree and Todd Beckstrom.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jackie of Moberly; mother, Irene Starr of Grassvalley, CA; step-mother, Louise Crabtree of Moberly; children, Lyle (Lakayla) Crabtree and Alexia Crabtree all of Moberly; grandchildren, Amia and Kingston Crabtree both of Moberly; brother, Pat (Pam) Mulligan of Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
