Obituary of Helen Wilson

Helen Louise Morgan Wilson, 84 of Moberly, passed away January 30, 2021 at her home with family at her side.  She was born on May 19, 1936 in Eugene, MO to Tony and Marge (McGowan) Morgan.  Helen married Billy Lee Thomason who passed away in July of 1975.  Later, she married Ronald W. Wilson and he passed away in December of 2009.  Along with her husbands, Helen is preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Jo Morgan and Tommy Morgan and son-in-law, Steve Shriver.

Helen was a mom and grandma to the following:  Billy (Lisa) Thomason of Moberly, Clarice (Bill Hagedorn) Shriver of Moberly, Lisa (Barry) Browning of Kansas City, KS, Jennifer Wilson of Jacksonville, Troy Wilson of Moberly, Lori (Rick) Knapp of Virginia, Clayton and Jude Thomason both of Moberly, Jenny David of Auxvasse, Sarah Jo David of Hartland, WI, Allie Wilson of Columbia and Cody Howard of Macon; she was sister to Chuck (Jan) Morgan of Henley, Joyce Hagerman of Jefferson City, Ellen (Bill) Holtmeyer of Columbia and Perry (Sonja) Morgan of Eldon and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Helen was a member of Carpenter Street Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years.  She also enjoyed cooking at the church dinners.

She volunteered on the Randolph County Red Cross Board and worked with the Blood Drives for many years.

Helen was very proud of the years she spent volunteering with West Park PTA/PTO, School Bond Issues and Moberly Band Boosters.

She had many jobs over the years (cleaners, waitress, Woolworth’s, babysitter, school cook and daycare bus attendant) but her favorite jobs were as Mom, Grandma and Wife.

Services celebrating Helen’s life will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
