Obituary of Mary Redifer
Mary Ellen Redifer, 81, of Moberly, was surrounded by her family at Moberly Nursing and Rehab on June 15, 2020 when her time came to go home to her Lord. She was born to Temple Benjamin Haley and Mary Margaret (White) Haley on December 24, 1938 in Madison, MO.
Mary was a kind hearted, generous woman who was always there for everyone, whether it be a place to stay, a ride somewhere, something to eat or just someone to talk to. She was an angel on earth. On April 13, 1957 she wed Harold Dean Redifer. They spent many wonderful years together before his passing in 2009. Mary worked as a custodian at the old Moberly Courthouse for many years. After that she worked for ConAgra up until her retirement.
Mary was a marvelous mother, grandmother and sister. She took pride in making sure her family was well taken care of. She enjoyed mushroom hunting and bass fishing, playing bingo and scratching lottery tickets, perusing garage sales and spending as much time as possible with her family. Family was the most important thing in her life, she adored her children and grandchildren. Mary was a member of Family Life Fellowship. She was such a kind soul. Everyone who knew her, loved her. Mary had an amazing extended family; not necessarily by blood but always by love!
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Temple Benjamin Haley and Mary Margaret Haley; her husband, Harold Dean Redifer; her children, Mary Jo Ware, Margaret Marie Ware and Tommy Jean Redifer and son-in-law, Gerald Twyman.
Survivors include her children, John Redifer, Harold” Riley” Redifer and Deana Twyman all of Moberly; grandchildren, Tommy (Kara) Redifer of Higbee, Amber Redifer of Moberly, Tammy Redifer of Kansas City, Mary Dawn Seldal of Columbia, James (Amy) Bird of Clifton Hill, Christy Dutton and Travis Redifer both of Moberly; Sarah Dutton of Jefferson City and Jacob Redifer of Moberly; great grandchildren, Mary Jane Seldal, Jasmine Zike, Justice Zike, Jon Trace Redifer, Ashley Walstead, Kenyona Redifer, Keetun Redifer, Kaitlyn Million Redifer, Spencer Redifer, Janessa Dawn Smith and Emma Bird; great-great granddaughter, Ansley Baker; brother, Bill (Shirley) Haley of New Castle, Wyoming; niece, Brenda (Gil) Garcia; great nephews and niece, Benjamin Gregory Garcia, Sara Elizabeth Garcia and Thomas Alexander Garcia; extended family, Dee Langerud and Trinity Garner; many close friends and her two favorite nurses, Beth Dennis and Samantha Hamm.
A memorial service celebrating Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service.
