Obituary of Coleen Albright

Coleen “Janette” Albright, 85 of Higbee, Mo passed away Friday, May 8, 2020.

Janette was born January 14, 1935 in Moberly, MO to Wilson Barnhart McCormick Sr. and Oleta Frances Avery.

Janette wed Donald “Donnie” Wayne Albright on January 5, 1954 in Moberly, MO.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Janette and Donnie enjoyed doing crafts together.  Donnie would often build wooden crafts that Janette would skillfully paint or stain.  Janette loved to cook and bake.  Saturdays were regularly spent with family gathered at Donnie and Janette’s house, where she would put together wonderful meals for everyone to enjoy.  Janette was also an incredible seamstress and would sew beautiful quilts and dresses.  She was also a wonderful storyteller.  Her grandchildren loved to listen to stories of her childhood – stories of mischief and orneriness that were always fascinating and comical to hear.

Janette is preceded in death by her parents, Wilson Barnhart and Oleta Frances Avery McCormick; her sister Georgia Ann Riley, and brother Wilson McCormick.

Survivors include her husband Donnie of Higbee and their children, Teresa “Terri” (Larry) Apel of Moberly, Rick (Loretta) Albright of Higbee and Roger (Traci) Albright of Higbee; grandchildren, Doug (Lisa) Apel of Renick, Kim Apel of Moberly, Amanda (Dustan) Johnson of Kansas City, Clint Apel of Moberly, Cassie Apel of Moberly, Matt Apel of Moberly, Stacy Albright of Moberly, Josh Albright of Moberly and Ashlee (Ian) Sutherland of Moberly.  She is also survived by their 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Beverly (Wilson) McCormick of Madison; brother-in-law C.B. (Georgia Ann) Riley of Moberly and brother-in-law Leroy Small of Moberly; cousin Juanita (Wilbur) Callicott of Columbia, and extended family.

Due to the current pandemic, a private service will be held for family with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
