Obituary of Wanda Woods

Wanda Kay Woods, 76, of Moberly passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at home surrounded by family.

Wanda was born July 22, 1943 in Higbee, MO to Joseph Henry Apel and Oliva Phyllis Ancell.

Wanda was wed to Clemons Woods in Clark, MO on April 3, 1964, he preceded her in death in 2003. She was a CMA at Mark Twain Assisted Living, as well as a child care provider for many years. She was a 2^nd mom to half of the children in Higbee, and some in Clark. She was a member of the Southern Randolph Christian Chapel.

In her free time, Wanda enjoyed embroidery work and reading. She loved telling stories about her children and the pranks she and her cousins pulled. She was an amazing woman who will be greatly missed.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Clemons Woods; parents, Joseph and Oliva Phyllis Apel; siblings, Virginia Lee Apel and Henry (Buddy) Ernest Apel.

Survivors include children, Penny Woods, Brenda Koenig and Faith Woods all of Moberly; grandchildren, Wesley (Megan) Koenig, Kevin (Emily) Koenig, Kelsey Ancell and Jamie Ancell all of Moberly; great grandchildren, Sara Koenig, Ashley Koenig, Easton Koenig and Millie Koenig all of Moberly; siblings, Ronald (Vikki) Apel of Moberly and Harold (Jo) Apel of Woodriver, IL; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Apel of Moberly, Imogene Woods of Clark and Joyce Woods also of Clark; extended family and close friends.

Services celebrating Wanda Kay Woods’ life will be held Monday, May 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Higbee City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2020 from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home.
