Obituary of Dollie June Hoskins

Dollie June Hoskins, 86 of Moberly passed away unexpectedly, February 17, 2020 at Moberly Regional Hospital.

She was born on July 26, 1933 to Bryan Wood and Eva Montgomery Wood in Duncans Bridge, MO.  Dollie attended school in both Duncans Bridge and Cairo.  She completed her GED and while in her forties she finished 2 years of college at Florissant Valley Community College.  Dollie was very proud of this achievement.

Over the years she held several positions.  She worked at the Rexall Drug Warehouse in Hazelwood, for Vickers in Omaha as an addressograph operator, as an assistant manager for Ramada Inn at the St. Louis Airport and for Commercial State Insurance as a personal assistant maintaining records for over 140 employees.

Dollie was a member of the White Shrine and the Eastern Star.  She could boast that she had lived in six different states.  She loved to travel and had visited 39 states.  Dollie also enjoyed music and spending time with her family.  She was Cub Scout mother and room mother as her children were growing up.  Later, when grandchildren came along, she attended all their athletic events.  She will be remembered for her spunkiness and love of socializing.  She made many good friends over the years and will be greatly missed.

Dollie is preceded in death by her parents, Bryan Wood and Eva Kilgore; a son, Donald Denney and brothers, Bryan Eugene Wood and Gary Lee Wood.

Those surviving include her children, Donna (Ronald) Bleeckert of St. Peters, Bill Hoskins, Lisa Meder and David Hoskins all of Moberly; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; siblings, Dottie Brockman of Columbia, Bertha Wolf of Denver, CO and Larry Wood of Columbia; extended family and friends.

Services celebrating Dollie’s life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until time of service.  There will be a private inurnment at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Dollie’s honor are suggested to the American Stroke Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
