Obituary of William H Powell Jr.

William “Boog” Hinton Powell, Jr., 72, of Moberly, passed away January 22, 2020.  Bill was born June 20, 1947 in Moberly to William Powell, Sr., and Alta Reed Powell.  Bill graduated from Bevier High School.  He was united in marriage to Jackie Powell on May 20, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada and she survives of the home. 

Bill worked at ConAgra in Macon, MO and Farmerville, LA and retired after 47 years with the company.  He was a member of the American Legion “Sixers” baseball team and Graff Pepsi fast pitch softball team.  He enjoyed softball, baseball and was a huge St. Louis Cardinals Fan.  More than anything, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play their sports, baseball, softball, cheerleading and basketball.

Those preceding Bill in death are his father and a brother, Gary Powell.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by children Rhonda (Larry) Rogers of Kirksville, Chris Powell of Green City, MO, Michelle (Shane) Brown of Brashear, Courtney (Eric) Perkins of Marshall and Ashley Powell of Moberly; grandchildren, Blaine Raine of Columbia, Brock (Morgan) Powell of Greentop, Amy Head of Kirksville, Derek Head of Columbia, William (Kaylee) Jordan of Texas, Zack (Alicia) Powell of Green City, Alexis Powell of Shelbina, Hailey Powell of  Kirksville, T’Leah Powell, Taylor Powell, Ashmann Powell all of Moberly; several great grandchildren; brother Terry (Janice) Powell of Bevier; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held in Bill’s honor, all are welcome to attend, on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home.
