I read with shock that Dickie had passed away. Dickie was the wrestler I most looked up to at John Marshall. He embodied what I came to realize was the epitome of classic athletes. Fiercely competitive, but humble in victory. He encouraged younger team mates and was generous with his praise for effort. He was a genuine person who would credit his team mates in their efforts to help him prepare to excel. He was my role model and I will forever be thankful for being fortunate enough to share experiences with him at John Marshall. He made us all better. Thank you, Dickie. Ron Maxfield

Dick & Margaret were great hosts for the Elrod family reunion in September. Dick gave a great ride around the lake for several of us which gave us a really good memory of him. Love to all his family- we all will miss his smile. Bill Elrod

This week Dickie saw the face of Jesus, and it took his breath away when He heard the Lord say, “Welcome Home!”
We lived on the same block when Dickie had his manufacturing plant in Hereford, TX. We spent countless hours making priceless memories as our children played between our houses. We love Dickie, Margaret & family and treasure the special times we spent together in Texas.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. My wife and I were very sad to hear of Dickie's passing. I was the first JMHS wrestler to become a Sooner.

Dick and Diane were our neighbors on Circle Dr. our family so enjoyed the neighbor visits and watching Dick bring home his Bass fish he’d catch at Rothwell Park! Quite the fisherman AND businessman. I’m so sorry for your loss and am praying for you and the family. Love Diane Gladhart Thornburg

I knew Dickie when I was a counsellor at the OU dormitory housing the OU wrestling team. I remember him as a great friend and
student leader to everyone he knew and touched. My wife, then Sharon Gafford and now Sharon Ritz, was classmate of Dickie at John Marshall HS. We wish his family the best in the times ahead.
