Obituary of Robert Gene Threlkeld

Robert “Bob” Gene Threlkeld, 64, of Moberly passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019.

Bob was born September 12, 1955 in Kansas City, MO to Bobbie Glenwood Threlkeld and Peggy (Jurado) Threlkeld.

Bob was raised in Liberty, MO; he graduated from Liberty High School in 1973, where he excelled in track.  His athletic talent continued and several years later in 1980, he won the title of State Monster Arm Wrestling Champion.

Later in life, Bob moved to the Moberly area, where he was a beloved member of Family Life Fellowship. Bob was known for his fun sense of humor and antics and had the remarkable reputation for winning any carnival game that he played, no matter how challenging.  He was a talented carpenter and craftsman and built several beautiful homes over the course of his lifetime.  He was also well-known for his exceptional artistry as a taxidermist and the ability to capture the majesty of wildlife with realism and beauty.  During his free time, Bob could always be found outside; he was an avid hunter and true outdoorsman in every sense of the word.

Bob is preceded in death by his father, Bobbie “Bob” Threlkeld and uncle, Pat Threlkeld.

Survivors include his mother, Peggy Threlkeld; daughters, Sara (Earl Grice) Threlkeld of Parkville and Carlie Threlkeld of Ashland; grandson, Braxton Threlkeld of Parkville; niece and nephews, Alex Threlkeld of Warrensburg, Zeke Threlkeld and Lane Threlkeld both of Columbia; brother, Larry (Karen) Threlkeld of Columbia; special friend, Linda; extended family and close friends.

A family led memorial celebration honoring Bob’s life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Family Life Fellowship, 1614 Highway U. S. 24, Moberly, MO 65270. Family will receive guests from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.  A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
