I first met Sandra when we moved to Jacksonville when I was in the fourth grade. We were in a small class of about 8 or 9 through 6th grade at Jacksonville and then moved up to join the 7th grade at Cairo. She was a good friend with a sweet spirit and kind heart, always had a smile, and laughed at my stupid jokes. It is no surprise she followed her mother into the nursing field. I do not remember ever hearing a harsh word from her. Sandra, Terry Newton and I also went to Cairo Baptist Church together and our moms were good friends and in the same extension club. I remember us playing together at many of the club socials. She was an important part of our Class of '65 and the first member we have lost! She was a blessing to me, and I am thankful God put her in my life. Her pain is gone; she has been set free and is now in the arms of Jesus! My heart goes out to Danny, her children and grandchildren who she dearly loved and her sisters, Sue, Ruth, Debbie and Pam. May God give each of you peace and comfort and fill your hearts with precious memories!
