Obituary of William Burdett Brinkman
William “Bill” Burdett Brinkman, 71 of Moberly passed away January 13, 2019 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. He was born July 24, 1947 in Birmingham, AL to Kenneth Brinkman and Virginia Burdett Brinkman.
Bill attended Hickman High School in Columbia and earned a Bachelor of Art Degree from the University of Missouri. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War where he was stationed in Libya.
He loved to work on cars and fix anything around the house that was broken. Bill loved his cats and he loved trains. He had a collection of miniature trains that he would set up and run for the family at Christmas. In his spare time Bill also enjoyed dirt track racing. He was known for his kind heart and compassion. Andrew said that Bill was also very wise. He had a great deal of knowledge about many different things. He stated he never left a conversation with Bill that he hadn’t learned something new.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Virginia Brinkman and his brother, David Brinkman.
Survivors include his children, William (Sandra) Brinkman of Chicago, IL, Richard Brinkman of Moberly and Steven Brinkman and fiancée Casey Cheek of Columbia; eight grandchildren; his significant other of 18 years, Cynthia Inlow and her two children, Douglas Inlow and Monica (Andrew) Sims both of Moberly; extended family and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville at a later date.
