Obituary of Jack L. Cooper
Jack L. Cooper, 76, of Huntsville, MO was called home to the Lord on May 13, 2014.
Jack was born August 31, 1937 in Hood River, Oregon to Robert Cooper and Vera Cannon Cooper.
He served his country with pride and honor through 26 plus years in the armed services in both the United States Navy and the United Stated Army, serving in the Vietnam War as well as around the globe. He married Elizabeth DeCesare in El Paso, Texas on May 10, 1970, and she survives of the home. After his retirement from the United States Military, Jack went to work for the state of Missouri in food service at a prison, where he later retired a second time.
Jack was a lifelong fisherman, a hobby he loved and excelled in. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons whom he was so very proud of.
Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister Barbara LeMaine.
Those surviving include his wife Liz; son Parker Cooper of Huntsville, grandsons Sebastian and Cobie Cooper of Huntsville, brother Don Cooper and wife Rachel of Otis, Oregon.
Jack showed the honor and courage of a hero throughout his battle with cancer, and through his devoted service to his country. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Services will be held Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly, MO with full Military Honors and interment at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. Visitation will be Thursday May 15, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home.
