Obituary of Christy Lea Mitcham

Christy Lea Mitcham, 40, of Madison, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014. Christy was born January 25, 1974 in Independence, Missouri to Harold and Darlene Meals. She moved to the Madison area seven years ago. On September 15, 2013 she married Joseph Mitcham and he survives of the home. Christy was a lifelong homemaker. She liked to hunt, fish and garden. She loved animals and fed all the strays on the hill – tame or wild. Christy especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends. She is survived by her husband Joseph; children, Victoria Elizabeth Wilson of Independence, MO, Jeremy Dale Wilson stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood , MO, Richard Lee Stephenson Jr. of Madison, MO, her father Harold Meals, mother Darlene Paige; and brother, Lucas Brandon Meals of Springfield, MO. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center in Madison, MO. Services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Community Center with interment in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Madison, MO. Pathway Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
