Obituary of Brenda Rucker Brown

Brenda Rucker Brown, age 56 of Moberly, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at Columbia Health Care Nursing Home in Columbia, MO. Brenda was born September 3, 1958 in Huntsville, MO to Russell Rucker Sr. and Ruby Hughes Rucker. She was a lifelong resident of the Huntsville area and a graduate of Westran High School. She continued her education at the Moberly Area Community College, where she played on the first Lady Greyhounds Basketball Team in 1978. Brenda was a homemaker and very devoted to her family and her church. At Second Baptist Church she served as an usher and was the President of Usher Board Day, as well as serving as Chairperson of Friends and Family Day. She enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful caregiver. Friends and family describe her as an “all around great person”. She was preceded in death by her father, and a brother Russell Rucker, Jr. Brenda is loved and survived by her husband James Brown, to whom she was married for 32 wonderful years; her brothers, Carl Rucker of Moberly, Lawrence Rucker of St. Louis, Robert Rucker (LaSandra) of Columbia, Christopher Rucker of Moberly and a sister, Marschelle Fugate of Hannibal; children, Aaron Brown (Faiza) of Las Vegas, William Brown and Bobby Brown of Moberly; an uncle, Lawrence Hughes, Huntsville, MO; four grandsons, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a host of cousins and friends. Services for Brenda will be Friday, February 20, 2015 at Second Baptist Church in Huntsville, MO at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the Huntsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Second Baptist Church, 104 N. Oak St., Huntsville, MO 65259. Pathway Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
