Obituary of Tommy Lingo
Tommy Lingo Jr., 86, of Moberly, passed away Thursday May 21, 2015 at the Missouri State Veterans Home in Mexico, MO. Tommy was born September 23, 1928 in Brunswick, MO to Thomas Jefferson and Mable Irene Wiseman Lingo.
Tommy served in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954. He and his fellow soldiers cleared some of the liberated concentration camps; an experience he spoke of often and never forgot. His family said it made a huge impact on him. Upon his return to the states, he went to work as a truck driver and became a member of the Teamsters Union. Tommy was married to Lorene Francis Maupin who preceded him in death. He was known to be a tinkerer who enjoyed repairing all types of machines, even cars. Tommy never met a stranger. He loved meeting new people and hearing their life stories.
Those preceding him in death are his parents and his wife Lorene Maupin Lingo.
He is survived by his three sons, John Lingo (Renee) of Eldon, MO; Tom Ray Lingo (Peggy) of Bland, MO; Steven Lingo of Fulton, MO and a daughter Nita Lingo of Canada; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services for Tommy will be May 27, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, Missouri followed by full military honors and interment in the Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. Pathway Memorial has been entrusted with the arrangements.
