Obituary of Charles Randall Whitmore

Charles Randall “Randy” Whitmore, Clifton Hill, MO, age 64 died in his home on June 11, 2015. He was born on October 25, 1950 in King City, MO to Charles Laverne Whitmore and Virginia Ruth Stuart. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Robert E. Stuart, infant brother Brian Lee Whitmore, sister Pamela Joy Mettler Whitmore, step-sister Judy Mulligan and niece Aiesha Derboven. Randy is survived by his second wife, Lisa Mangelsen Whitmore, of the home; first wife Audrey Whitmore, Moberly; six children, Kasey Whitmore, Moberly, Tennille Davis, Columbia, Tomi Carter, Moberly, step-son Brock Hyatt, Moberly, step-daughter Brittany Hyatt, Clifton Hill and daughter Mattie Whitmore, Clifton Hill. Also surviving; brother Aaron Whitmore and wife Becky of Michigan; a niece, Ashley Whitmore of New York; five grandchildren, Hallie, Devin and Savannah Buck and Charlie Carter all of Moberly, Keli Davis of Columbia; three great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Aniyah and Nathan Allen Jr. of Moberly; a nephew of Columbia, Thad Derboven and one great nephew and two great nieces. Randy grew up in Moberly, MO and attended Moberly Public School. He married Audrey Pollard in 1969 and had three wonderful daughters. He married Lisa Mangelsen Hyatt in 1989 and had another wonderful daughter. Randy enjoyed working and worked many places. He mowed yards and delivered papers when he was younger. He worked at the old Moberly Theatre, the Bank, and Gibson Variety Store. He was also employed by Norfolk Western Railroad, Clark Oil, McGraw Edison, Wick Homes, NEMO Coal, Standard Havens, and the Missouri Department of Corrections. In 2002 he left the DOC due to an illness. His interests and hobbies were many and included baseball. Randy was scouted by the Cincinnati Reds but due to a knee injury was unable to play. He enjoyed family reunions, music of all kinds (especially Merle Haggard and Elvis Presley), bowling, gardening, trout fishing, making fishing rods and tying flies. Randy enjoyed food of any kind. He was a prankster, a wild story teller and collector of many things. He had a sharp tongue and a quick wit. He attended and was a member of Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church, Moberly, and recently attended Family Life Fellowship, Moberly. Funeral services for Randy will be Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, followed by interment in the Thomas Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2015 at the funeral home.
