Obituary of Marilyn Sue Humphrey

Marilyn Sue Humphrey, 76, of Huntsville, formerly of Moberly, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Brook Cherith Assisted Living in Huntsville, Mo surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born May 4, 1939 in Hannibal, MO to Chester Clay King and Sadie Pearl Welch. She relocated to Moberly from Hannibal in 1962. On March 6, 1963 she married Marion Humphrey in Hannibal, Mo. Marilyn served her country honorably in the Women’s Army Corp. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Woodland, Community, and MRMC Hospitals in Moberly and retired from the Randolph County Health Department. She enjoyed raising and training dogs, was a member of the AKC Kennel Club in Moberly, and raised a Collie, Lad, who went on to win the Champion Dog in the State of Illinois. Those preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, a brother, Henry (Buddy) King and a sister, Leona (Cissie) Brown. Survivors include her children, Audrey and Jim Rockett and Cleeton and Terri Humphrey all of Moberly; her brother, Norman and Pat King of Newbern, NC; six grandchildren, C. J. and Autum Humphrey of Columbia, Collen Humphrey of Moberly, Camryn and Kiersten Humphrey of Huntsville, Caleb Humphrey of Moberly, Kyle Huffman of Des, Moines, IA and Dylan and April Huffman of Moberly; three great grandchildren, Riley Humphrey of Columbia, Connor Hunter of Jacksonville, and Kami Humphrey of Huntsville; nieces, nephews and extended family. Services celebrating Marilyn’s life will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Higbee City Cemetery in Higbee, Mo. Visitation will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 from 11:00a.m. until time of service. Memorial Contributions are appreciated to Brook Cherith Assisted Living, 104 E. Elm, Huntsville, Mo 65259.
