Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Orscheln

Margaret (Peggy) Elizabeth Orscheln, 87, of Moberly, MO passed away Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO. Peggy was born May 21st, 1931 in Berwyn, Illinois to George Edward Schrage and Dorothy Elizabeth Schrage (Derkes). Peggy Orscheln and her husband Elmer have lived in Moberly for the past 62 years. They were married in 1951 in Quincy, IL at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The couple moved to Moberly in 1957 and have spent 68 beautiful years together raising a family and building a community of friends. Peggy was first and foremost a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She spent her early years at home raising 5 children and leaving them a legacy of how to live a life filled with faith, love, laughter and fun. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, golfing, dancing with Elmer and spending quality time with her family. She was a beloved member of St. Pius X Church in Moberly. Peggy Orscheln is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers George Edward Schrage and John (Jack) Schrage. Survivors include her husband; children, Michael (Marilyn) Orscheln of Fenton, MO, Laura (Greg) Smith of Paola, KS, Lisa (Mike) Palmer of Moberly, MO, Christopher (Christine) Orscheln of Columbia, MO, Paul (Brenda) Orscheln of St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren, Scott (Cassie) Orscheln of Columbia, MO, Ben (Justin) Orscheln of Kansas City, MO, Jennifer Palmer of Springfield, MO, Jessica (Matt) Brown of Springfield, MO, Heather (Patrick) Woods of Stilwell, KS, Mason Orscheln of St. Joseph, MO, Austin Orscheln of Columbia, MO, Nick Orscheln of St. Joseph, MO, Kyle Orscheln of Columbia, MO; great grandchildren, Alivia and Hudson Brown, of Springfield, MO, Benjamin and Graham Woods of Stilwell, KS, extended family and close friends. Funeral mass celebrating Peggy’s life will be held Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X church in Moberly, MO. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18th, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home, with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the St. Pius X School Foundation, and the St. Pius X Knights of Columbus.

Visitation

Monday, March 18, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home followed by a sharing of the rosary at 7:00 p.m.
