Obituary of Clifford Franklin Nickerson

Clifford Franklin Nickerson, 70, of Moberly, passed away March 23, 2019 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. Clifford was born in Pleasant Hill, MO on September 10, 1948 to Frank Nickerson and Nanny Helen Mitchell. In 1971 he was married to Viola Welch who preceded him in death November 16, 2018. Clifford lived and worked his entire life in Moberly. He joined the United States Army where he served honorably from 1968 to 1970. He was a member of The Pentecostal Church of Moberly and was self-employed as an auto body repairman. Clifford enjoyed attending car shows and listening to every kind of music. He was a family man and known to be a man of loyalty. Two of the favorite (people) in his life were his dogs Little Bit and Sissy. His family could not say anything negative about his dogs, and they laughingly said if he’d made a will, he would have left everything to Little Bit and Sissy. Those preceding Clifford in death are his parents; his wife, Viola; daughter, April Nickerson; great-granddaughter, Presley Elizabeth Hill; siblings, Wilma Stanfield, Donna McCreery, Roger Nickerson, Donald Nickerson and Linda Nickerson. He is survived by his children, Mitchell (Kristie) Nickerson, Angela Nickerson, Rebecca (Shawn) Closser all of Moberly and Shirley Nickerson of Columbia; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Vickie Griffith, Walter (Donna) Nickerson and Larry (Cathy) Nickerson all of Boonville; extended family and friends.
