Obituary of H. Robert Briney
Robert Briney, 64, of Moberly, MO, passed away Sunday, April 7th 2019 at home. Bob was born August 9th, 1954 in Beardstown, IL, to Roger and Jean (Dodds) Briney.
He attended Rushville High School, graduating in 1972. Bob and Johnna Gutekunst were wed in 2005, having been a couple since 1992. He was semi-retired; taking time to only work on projects he “wanted” to, with an enthusiasm for working on diesels, a job at which he was known to be very skilled. He had a preference for working on Duramax engines. Bob was a business owner, and contractor for AECI. He also worked at McCallister’s in Cairo, MO; Altorfer, and EA Martin. Prior to these jobs, he worked at Nemo Coal and coal mines in IL. Bob also had experience working on gold mines in Nevada. When he wasn’t working, Bob could be found attending truck and tractors pulls. He also loved spending time with his dogs.
Bob Briney is preceded in death by his father; brother, Bruce Briney and his grandmother, Helen Dodds.
Survivors include his wife Johnna; his mother, Jean Briney of Astoria, IL; his sister, Barb Abernathey of Brownsville, OR; his step mother, Mary Briney of Phoenix, AZ; his step sister, Karen (John) Anderson of Hilliand, FL and his step brother, Andy (Donna) Collins also of Phoenix, AZ.
At Bob’s request, no services will be held.
