Obituary of Mary Anntoinette Walker
Mary Anntoinette Walker, 79, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born March 25, 1937 in Decatur, IL the only child of Dorsey Hamilton Marshall and Violet Valora Kennedy Marshall.
She was a 1955 graduate of Moberly High School and attended Moberly Area Junior College. She married D. H. Walker in 1962. Mary lived in Wisconsin for many years before returning to Moberly in 1973. She worked for the Moberly Housing Authority for over ten years before her retirement. She was a member of the Coates Street Presbyterian Church and served as past Elder and Deacon. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her personal strength and commitment to help those less fortunate. She had the gift for seeing those who were unrecognized and unloved and offering them unconditional acceptance.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her children, Molly (Michael) Yarnal of Celina, TX and Edith (Danny) Cameron of Moberly, MO; grandchildren, Annie Yarnal of Celina, TX and Emily (Kevin) Koenig of Columbia, Mo as well as many friends.
A memorial service celebrating Mary’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Coates Street Presbyterian Church. A private inurnment will take place at a later time.
