Obituary of Gregory Neal Brockman
Gregory Neal Brockman, 64, of Moberly, went home to Jesus on April 18, 2017 at his home.
Greg was born January 29, 1953 in Moberly to Harold Brockman and Patsy Moore Brockman. He graduated from Moberly High School and the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla in 1975 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He moved to St. Louis where he began employment with Anheuser Busch. He later moved to Ft. Collins with the company and retired after 30 years as a brewing supervisor.
Greg was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
He married Jean Dunlop in Moberly on September 29, 1972. Greg enjoyed riding his Harley and playing his guitar. He loved old cars, especially hot rods, tinkering in his garage and doing yard work. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and best papa to his six grandchildren. He had an incredible sense of humor and always had a “punny” joke ready for any conversation. The heart of Greg was generosity. He loved playing his guitar in multiple bands where they played in nursing homes and prisons. He volunteered with the CASA program, giving of his time to help others. He was a keeper of the peace and the shepherd of his family, looking after his wife, siblings, children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Brockman, nieces Mandy Brockman and Tiffany Brockman and an uncle, Williard Brockman.
He is survived by his wife Jean of Moberly; daughters Sarah Lacy of Ft. Collins, CO and Jill Sanchez of Columbia, MO ; brothers Jerry (Janeane) Brockman of Columbia, MO , Randy (Sue) Brockman of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kent Brockman of Moberly, sister Becky (Randy) Coe Kearney, MO; grandchildren Jaime, Sarah and Tomas Sanchez, Connor (Jocelyn), Caitlin and Riley Lacy of all Ft. Collins, CO, extended family and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Greg will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly with interment at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 21, 2017 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly followed by a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society, 2409 Hyde Park Rd., Jefferson City, MO 65109.
