Obituary of Waldo Marks Schauperl
Waldo M. Schauperl, 94, formerly of Cairo, MO, passed away August 22, 2017 in Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion, Iowa. Waldo was born April 27, 1923 in Excello, MO to William Karl and Hazel Taylor Schauperl.
He married Mary Margaret Franke on May 2, 1948 in Excello and they enjoyed 69 years together. He attended Mount Salem Church and Macon High School. After graduation, he entered the United States Navy where he served from 1944 to 1946 during WWII. After returning to the states, he worked as a supervisor for General Mills in Kansas City, MO from 1946 until 1961 as well as Albers Feed for three years. In 1963, he returned to Cairo and worked as a supervisor at Banquet Foods in Macon for seventeen years. He also worked for Orscheln Brake Lever for five years before retiring. In later years he relocated to Marion, Iowa. Waldo farmed all of his life and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid coon hunter and fisherman.
Waldo was preceded in death by his parents and brother William Carl Schauperl.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Margaret; children, William Earl Schauperl (Judy) of Azle, TX, Dwight Schauperl (Mady) of Higbee, MO, and Sheri Block of Marion, IA; grandchildren, Page Garner (Bobby) of New London, MO, Mandy Lewis (Mark) of Mount Airy, MO, Kristy Harvey (Blaine) of Atlanta, MO, Mindy Huddleston (Dusty) of Higbee, MO, Mary Elizabeth Noah, Mondy France (Chad) both of Moberly, MO, Anjoylen Tafoya of Park Hills, MO, Amanda Tafoya, Ayanna Tafoya and Haley Block all of Marion, IA; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Harlan, Prescott, AZ, Leon Schauperl (Sharon) of Springville, CA and Irene Harley (Ronald) of Moberly; sister-in-law, Juanita Schauperl of Raymore, MO; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Graveside services for Waldo will be Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO with full military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, MO.
